The agency form asks for digitals. Your best fashion portrait has perfect lighting and careful retouching. That is precisely why it may be the wrong file. Digitals are meant to show your current, unstyled appearance clearly.
Use a real camera or phone, daylight, simple clothes and a plain background. Ask the agency for its exact shot list. The six-frame contact sheet above is an illustration of angles, not a set that any applicant should submit. Never submit a generated, face-altered or retouched image as an authentic agency digital.
Make a straightforward shot set
Start with a front-facing face photo, a profile from each side and a full-length front view. Add the views the particular application requests, such as a full-length side or back view. Keep the same outfit and light so the changes between frames are about angle, not styling. If you need to check your own framing, use the phone-timer portrait method, then step back enough to include the full body where requested.
IMG Models says it prefers natural daylight snapshots rather than professional photos for the under-18 applications described in its guidance. 1 That is one agency's stated rule for that applicant group, not a universal specification. The agency receiving your application has the final word on clothing, makeup, angles and file delivery.
| Frame | What to check before sending |
|---|---|
| Face, front | Eyes and hair visible, no beauty filter |
| Face, side | Genuine side view, not a tilted three-quarter pose |
| Full length | Head and feet included, level phone, natural stance |
| Requested extra | Matches the agency's own instructions |

Illustration only. Submit real, current, unretouched photos of yourself, not this image.
Keep the submission safe and truthful
Apply through an agency's official channel. Verify any scout before sending more photos or money. IMG's scouting page says it does not request nude or lingerie photos or monetary payment. 2 A request like that is a reason to stop and verify, not a sign that your portfolio needs to be bolder.
Digitals are different from a model comp card, which arranges selected images and information for a different purpose. Do not replace the plain submission photos with a polished comp card. If you want to explore editorial looks later, keep that as a separate creative project and label the results honestly.

Illustration only: real, current digitals belong in agency submissions. A styled portrait serves a separate portfolio purpose.
Submission check: actual current appearance, requested angles, plain light, unretouched originals and official destination.
