Patreon Profile Photo: Buy a Portrait or a Creator-Page Image Set?

Separate your Patreon profile image, cover and member-content visuals before buying portraits or commissioning wider page artwork.

Brief the actual Patreon image slot: Profile image, Wide cover, Member content
Original purchase-decision diagram. It illustrates a review process, not a tested output or customer result. Reviewed October 19, 2026.

A Patreon page refresh can need an individual portrait, a wide cover, tier artwork or images for member posts. Those are separate assets. Start with the missing file and the editor you actually use before buying a portrait package for the whole page.

Patreon's current image recommendations list a square profile image separately from its wider hero and post-feed formats.1 Its cover instructions also distinguish new and legacy page editors.2 A dimension copied from an older search result may belong to another surface or an earlier version of the guidance.

We publish MyPhotoAI. We checked both official articles and their visible Chrome pages on October 19, 2026. We did not publish a Patreon page, test an upload or measure member conversions.

List the actual assets

Placement Current published recommendation checked What the creative brief must address
Profile image 1024 by 1024 pixels, 1:1 A recognizable person image or approved identity artwork
Hero or cover 1600 by 400 pixels, 4:1 A separate wide composition
Post-feed image 1920 by 1080 pixels, 16:9 The actual member-content image
Tier image 460 by 200 pixels Artwork describing the actual offering

These are recommendations from Patreon's current sizing guide, not a promise that every upload must use those exact pixels.1 Do not borrow the post-upload limit and apply it to the cover field.

Check the editor before commissioning a cover

The cover article's selected New page editor guidance recommends at least 1600 by 400 pixels in JPEG or PNG. Its FAQ gives a 3 MB image limit for that editor and separate legacy guidance.2 Confirm which editor your page uses before exporting.

The same article allows using the profile photo as the header or uploading a cover, and notes that the app's main creator image is the separate profile photo.2 If an image seems absent on one surface, check that distinction before buying a replacement.

Keep important details away from vulnerable edges and inspect the actual narrow-screen preview. A large square face crop may have too little surrounding space for the wide composition. Expanding it changes the creative task rather than merely changing a file label.

Distinguish creator identity from membership artwork

A good portrait can identify the creator without explaining every benefit of a membership. Tier, product and post images need their own briefs. Decide where the text, approved marks and subject will sit rather than squeezing them into a small face image.

Patreon's current guide notes that non-16:9 images are letterboxed in the post feed.1 That is another reason to prepare the content image for its actual placement instead of reusing the profile crop indiscriminately.

Use original or permission-cleared artwork. A portrait purchase does not supply the rights to someone else's character, logo or existing cover design. Add accurate lettering in the final layout and check it separately from the portrait.

Choose the smallest suitable purchase

Try an existing current image in the profile crop first. If the portrait is suitable but the cover design is missing, commission that design. A new shoot is more relevant when you need another current likeness, pose or composition.

MyPhotoAI's current US Starter offer includes 3 HD photos for US$5. Plus includes 10 for US$10; Everything includes all photos from one shoot for US$10.3 Personalized generation begins after payment. There is no subscription in that offer; another shoot requires another purchase.

That allowance is not a complete creator-page design, membership-artwork set or automatic Patreon upload. Generation can take over an hour. Use the likeness review and crop guide before selecting final files.

Download the Patreon asset brief. Name the missing profile, cover or content work, then budget the actual image and layout scope.
